My dreamy House: the results of the survey

Understanding the needs of those who want to move home is essential to focus on the priorities in real estate research and identify proposals that may arouse interest, until finding a solution that fully meets expectations.

During the spring quarantine we decided to ask our interlocutors directly what their search criteria are and we involved our contacts in a targeted survey: “My dreamy House”.

Through a simple, but specific questionnaire, made up of targeted questions, we have profiled real estate preferences in the era of the pandemic.

The results we have found?

Families are mainly looking for a strategic positioning, convenient to services and close to work and relatives, and a good quarter of the participants believe that an open outlet - probable effect of forced quarantine - is essential, be it a balcony or a garden.



As far as the spaces are concerned, the optimal dimensions are those of four-room apartments (over 55% of preferences) and three-room apartments, preferring the comfort of generous spaces to the more restricted ones of two-room or one-room apartments.



As for the amount designated for the purchase, in Parma and its surroundings, buyers show that they have a fairly defined budget in mind: between € 200,000 and € 400,000. 38% of those interviewed, on the other hand, are looking for an investment within € 200,000, while 20% are willing to spend more demanding amounts.



In conclusion, in 2020 the predominant need is to experience the house at 360 °: more satisfactory sizes, where everyone has their own space, whether it is a studio for smart working, a comfortable room for studying, an extra space for a small gym. Another decisive element are the openings, both for those looking for a detached house with a garden, and for those looking for an apartment, in which a loggia becomes of primary importance in which to spend some time relaxing, perhaps taking care of a small flowery space.
